• Review of current trends on the Estonian auditing market

  Auditing market is undergoing significant changes. On the one hand, economic recession has forced companies to cut down expenses, including reduction of spending on auditing services, on the other hand new Auditing Act provides new challenges for certified auditors.

  In my opinion auditing involves two factors that can be used to characterise and classify audit firms: revenue from auditing and number of certified auditors.
• Planned changes in the preparation and submission of annual report

  In 2010 is not enough if the companies submit the reports to the commercial register in pdf or word format. From next year all data in annual accounts shall be submitted to the commercial register electronically.  In electronic format should be submitted all data in annual accounts (main statements and notes on the accounts), management report, profit distribution proposal, etc. Besides the annual accounts, the auditor is also required to prepare his report (electronic auditor’s report) in the same commercial register system.
• Our team started new season by welcoming two certified auditors and opening office in Tartu

  In autumn 2009 our team welcomed two certified auditors – Enre Oru and Toomas Prükk. Enre Oru started his duties in our new office in Tartu. This gives us greater flexibility in servicing our clients in South Estonia. After returning from his year-long journey to Asia and Pacific Oceania (see Journey of Marika and Tom), Toomas Prükk has, much to our pleasure, decided to continue providing auditing and consultancy services.
